• Dry wood Termites.
One of the most common types of termites is the Drywood Termite. Drywood termites make their colonies within the wood on which they feed. As they consume wood, they burrow mazes of tunnels and chambers within walls and furniture. These termites leave small piles of feces that resemble sawdust where they have eaten or nested. These insects can cause severe damage such as sagging in floors, walls and ceilings and may leave behind areas which appear to be water-damaged. After the termites swarm and begin new colonies these termites lose their wings and can be found in small piles throughout an infested home. These wings resemble fish scales.
